# Anatomy of Platform Health

_Four tiles. The flagship Sheepit dashboard, explained._

The first dashboard you'll see when you sign up is Platform Health. It's four tiles. The point isn't to give you every metric — the point is to give you the ones you'd be most embarrassed to miss.

## The four tiles

1. Daily active users — 24h unique count. This is the default: its 30-day trend is what's already in the big chart when the page loads.
2. Sessions — 24h count. Click the tile to swap the big chart to its own 30-day trend.
3. Signups — 24h count of your signup event. Click to see its 30-day trend.
4. Errors — 24h count of captured errors. No separate trend here — clicking it just re-shows the same 24h window.

## Why these four?

Because they cover the signals that matter together: usage (DAU + sessions), growth (signups), and reliability (errors). DAU's trend greets you by default; click Sessions or Signups to make the big chart theirs instead — one dashboard, driven by whatever you're focused on right now.

## When to build your own

Platform Health is the shared dashboard for the whole team. Build your own when you have a specific question ("how is the new checkout doing this hour?") or a specific audience ("the marketing team wants signups by channel"). One dashboard, one question, one audience. That's the rule.

> **Note:** Five-tile rule: if your dashboard has more than five tiles, you've built a metrics warehouse, not a dashboard. Split it.
